Evelyn Mancinelli Brennan, age 102 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Brennan, passed away, Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the Jewish Home. Evelyn was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Ida and Alexandro Mancinelli and is survived by a son Daniel and wife Adrianna and three grandchildren Lisa Brennan, Daniel Brennan and Marlene Ferguson, three great grandchildren Julia Brennan, and Michael and Sienna Ferguson, and her nieces and nephews. During her lifetime she managed the first coffee shop in St. Vincent’s Hospital and then worked in Read’s department store until her retirement at 62. She then traveled to Europe and visited many countries. She then settled down and did volunteer work for Easter Seals, St. Vincent’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Manor, and also volunteered to read to third grade students in the Bridgeport School System. She received the President’s Volunteer Service Award and retired from volunteer service at the age of 85. She had a colorful life. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30a.m., meeting directly in St. Patrick Church, 851 North Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
