Joseph M. Droniak

October 6, 1949 ~ February 25, 2021 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Tribute

Joseph M. Droniak, age 71, beloved husband of Sandy Droniak, entered eternal rest on February 25th, 2021, at his home surrounded by family. Born in Hazleton, PA, on October 6, 1949, he was the son of the late Michael and Rita Droniak.

He will be long remembered for his devotion to his family.  In addition to his wife of nearly 45 years, he is survived by his step-son, David Von Briesen and his wife Tracy and their children Nicholas and Christopher, and step-daughter Pamela Von Briesen and her children, Steven, Josh, Anna, and Vince.  He is also survived by two brothers: Michael Droniak and his children Kristen, Michael, and Jonathan; and Bruce Droniak; and a brother-in-law, Mark Roberts, and his children Scott, Brian, and Kyle.  He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia A. Roberts.

After high school, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, of the 2nd Armored Division, and served honorably in Vietnam, earning 4 Bronze Service Stars. He left active duty in 1970, and built a career in residential and commercial construction.  He enjoyed his annual hunting trips to Pennsylvania, and spending time with his aunt, uncles, and cousin back in Hazleton.  To Joe, family meant everything, and he welcomed opportunities to spend time with family, even if that meant teaching them to drive a nail with only two swings or to not drop treated lumber on their own toes.

The family wishes to thank Brian J of the Stratford VNA for his compassion and care during this difficult time.
